What a great gift you gave your daughters, Kathy! And what a great gift for us that you shared this!

This reminds me of the stories my mother-in-law told my kids when they were little. There were Native American characters named Rain-in-the-Face and Sun-Up and they had great adventures with their horse riding through the plains. My husband and I are trying to resurrect them to tell them to our grandchildren. Thanks for the inspiration.

I love that you told stories in the car. Road trips just aren’t what they used to be. While modern technology can keep the kids quiet and happy, the art of talking with each other is being lost! My kids are grown but I would love to start a tradition with them of making up stories before they grow old like me and lose their imaginations.

I really loved following the thread of your storytelling from your childhood, then your children. I'm sure they have wonderful memories of that time, and have it carried through, in their own creativity.

I love that you and your daughters made up stories together. Not only will those be special memories for them to hold to, but the benefits of increased imagination and problem-solving skills will help them in many life situations!

Road trips in a car with no radio, and the speed limit of 55, were made so more enjoyable by listening to my parents interact. It was usually about the weeks happening on the railroad for my dad, and how naught us kids were, but it was music, just like you tell. Thank you for bringing back to me the memories of riding in the car.

This is very sweet. Between this and the stories you have told in class it is so clear that you cherish your daughters. I really appreciate your honesty and vulnerability about parenting. It makes me look forward to having kids someday!
