Biography

Liz Warren, a fourth-generation Arizonan, is a storyteller, teacher, writer and co-founder of the South Mountain Community College Storytelling Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. She tells a variety of stories, but finds herself returning to those tales that reflect the heroic journey of personal transformation – whether they are stories of growing up in Arizona, folktales, or myths from ancient traditions. She is the author of the Hero’s Journey Writing Tool and its companion website. Her recorded version of The Story of the Grail received a Parents Choice Recommended award in 2004 and a Storytelling World award in 2006. Also in 2006, she was a featured teller at Going Deep: The Long Traditional Storytelling Festival held in Bethlehem, Indiana, and at The River and Arts Festival in Ballinasloe, Ireland. The Path of Truth, her new cd of Arizona family stories will be released in 2007.
